What is the weight of the concrete pieces?
The weight of the slabs is approximately 120 pounds and the frame is approximately 160 pounds. They can therefore be easily transported by two people or even alone with certain tools (e.g., hand truck).
What are the steps to obtain a BEAM product?
The preliminary step is standard ground preparation like any concrete project. Then, simply contact the sales department to obtain a free quote. Finally, you can choose to do business with us for installation and/or delivery, or handle it yourself thanks to its simple and quick installation.
What tools are needed for installation?
To attach the structure together, you only need an electric drill/screwdriver. All other fastening components will be included. You may also have a few leveling tools as needed.
What are the delivery times?
Our team works very hard to minimize production and delivery times (and installation if included). However, you should expect approximately 2 weeks before receiving your customized project.
Do the products move during freeze/thaw cycles?
No. BEAM products are not standard patio slabs. Their frame component is firmly attached to each other, allowing them to follow the same movement process as a standard concrete slab. Therefore, BEAM products will gradually adapt like all concrete products to freeze and thaw, without impacting their solidity and synergy.
What is the best option between poured-in-place concrete and BEAM?
All BEAM products are designed with a special mix created for factory conditions. This same mix could not be used on job sites due to its excessive strength in environmental conditions (sun, wind, heat, etc.). Additionally, all our pieces are reinforced with structural fiber and rebar for increased strength. Finally, the factory finish cannot match that on a job site because the pouring conditions are excellent, no environmental factors are at play, and the concrete curing is optimal.
